Handing off the keys – big news for 2019!

“In 2012 we started Mighty Axe Hops as college students with a big idea. Over the last 5 years we’ve fought the good fight and grown our farm to the largest in Minnesota, something we never thought we’d be able to say. As we continue to grow into our new home in Foley, and as we develop as a business, we’re constantly pursuing evolution, improvement, and growth.

It is with great excitement, then, that I get to announce our latest change: we’re hiring on a new farm manager, and I’m handing off day-to-day responsibilities to another person as passionate about hop farming as I am (be sure to apply if that’s you!).

That means a couple things:

– First, our farm gets to take an important step forward in bringing on another passionate, talented, and creative person to add to the story of Mighty Axe.
– Second, I’m still here! I’ll just be focusing my time on a smaller, more concentrated role doing what I love and excel at: Agronomy.

It has been an incredible ride these last 5 years, and I’m grateful for the opportunities that have come with it: meeting all the friendly folks in the industry, driving big (always green) machines, and watching a tiny plant become a 20’ monster that smells like grapefruit rind. I look forward to watching our farm thrive in this next era, and I can’t wait to see what we accomplish.

And seriously, apply for the job when we post it.

Cheers,

Ben”
